Apple recently filed in the United States some patents that suggest a completely different Apple Watch from what we have seen so far. The first patent shows the side button, which Apple calls Digital Crown, adjustable and adjustable like a joystick.
This way, the next Apple Watch can have a side button that can be moved in various directions. This is a way to streamline the way you interact with your watch, allowing you to switch menus and make selections in a much more ergonomic and natural way.
Adjustable strap automatically may be a reality
Apple's second patent shows a self-adjusting bracelet. According to the patent, the strap will tighten around the user's wrist when certain health monitoring applications are opened. For example, by selecting the heart rate reader the strap can be tightened to provide a more accurate reading.
Given that Apple is increasingly focusing on health functions, it makes perfect sense. Indeed, several rumors already indicate that Apple intends to include a blood glucose meter in the upcoming Apple Watch.
Apple Watch continues to dominate the wearables market
Achieving 35% market share (according to IDC ), Apple Watch is the market leader in the wearables industry. This segment has seen tremendous growth, where most brands have experienced annual growth rates above 100 like Apple , Samsung and Huawei.
In 2020, the trend may continue with more and more brands betting on this segment. It remains to be seen if Apple Watch Series 6 will bring the implementation of these patents or if Apple will wait longer.
