Ricoh recently released two ultra-durable rugged card cameras - the WG-6 and the G900. Both cameras are equipped with a 20 megapixel sensor and are equipped with a ring LED flash around the sensor, a built-in GPS module, and support for 4K Ultra HD video capture.

Ricoh WG-6

The target group of Ricoh WG-6 is very clear, that is, those who want to take pictures but do not want to post-process. The camera can support up to 65 feet of waterproof and can last for 2 hours. In addition, the camera can withstand free fall up to 6.5 feet in height and can be used in harsh environments down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 10 degrees Celsius). The camera has a built-in GPS module that can be used with an electronic compass to mark location data captured by photos.

The Ricoh WG-6 is equipped with a 20 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor that supports still photography and 4K 30fps video capture. ISO values up to 6400, plus Handheld Night Snap mode, can integrate multiple photos into one HDR image. Ricoh has also added the Movie SR+ mode to reduce the blurring of high-speed moving objects such as sports. Unfortunately, after turning this feature on, it does not support 4K video capture and will drop to Full HD resolution.
Ricoh G900
This is a camera for users in the construction, civil engineering, disaster relief and healthcare industries. It is also waterproof, dust-proof, impact-resistant and chemical-resistant, and can work normally for more than 2 hours at 65 feet of water. Ricoh said that the G900 will survive the 6.5-foot drop.

Compared with the previous generation G800, the body size is 26% compact. However, the internal use of 20 million pixel back-illuminated sensor, 5x optical zoom, equivalent to 28-140mm in 35mm format. It also has 6 LED ring surround lenses. GPS and electronic compass on the body make it easy to mark position and orientation data. The camera has 6.5GB of storage and barcode scanning. The camera can be locked with a password and has an electronic level.
Price
Currently, both cameras are accepting reservations. The retail price of the WG-6 is $399.95, while the retail price of the G900 is $799.95. Ricoh has not announced the date of shipment of the two cameras.
