Changes include support for Apple File System, which appeared for the first time on devices with iOS with the release of iOS 10.3 in March. The new system has been optimized and able to replace the outdated system of HFS.

Another important change - Support video format H.265 (HEVC). However, it will only be available on a Mac with an Intel Core processor and 6 generations later.

Apple has made changes in Safari, adding "smart protection against tracking", which does not allow any site to track your actions and does so with the help of machine learning. Reader mode was also improved, and the browser can now automatically disable autoplay video.

macOS High Sierra is compatible with all Mac, which supports macOS 10.12 Sierra. These include:

  • MacBook - 2009 and newer

  • iMac - 2009 and newer

  • MacBook Air / Pro - 2010 and newer

  • Mac mini and Mac Pro - 2010 and newer

You can upgrade to the High Sierra via the tab "Updates" in the Mac App Store. Now the download can take a long time because so many users will upgrade the system in the early hours. So it is better to wait a couple of hours, and only then update your Mac.
